Description
American Traveler is hiring a Travel RN for a Progressive Care Unit (Stroke & Brain) position requiring NIHSS certification and telemetry/stroke experience.
Details
- Work in the Stroke & Brain unit (5 East) of a hospital setting with 16 beds
- Patient ratio of 4:1
- Unit supported by techs
- Utilizes Welch Allyn VS machines, Hoyer lift, Sarah Steady lift, telemetry, bladder scanner, and Doppler equipment
- Documentation completed in Meditech
- 13-week assignment with a 7A-7P shift schedule
- Scheduled for 3 shifts per week, including 3-4 weekend shifts
- Floating required to areas where competency has been demonstrated
Requirements
- Active RN license (MO or Compact) currently in hand
- Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS
- Minimum 1 year of recent experience in telemetry, stroke, and neurology
- Cardiac drip and basic dysrhythmia skills required
- US SSN and DOB required for consideration (no Canadian SSN accepted)
- Two professional references required for Missouri placements
- No employment gaps of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
Additional Information
- Provide direct patient care to a stroke and neurology patient population with telemetry monitoring
- High employee engagement reported within the unit
- Navy blue scrubs required as part of the dress code
- Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible for consideration
- First-time travelers may be considered
