Description
American Traveler is hiring an MRI Technologist with 2+ years of specialty experience and ARRT (R) certification for a 13-week travel assignment.
Details
- Hospital-based MRI department
- Adult acute care, adult ICU, adult outpatient, and ER/trauma work settings
- Day shift, 4x12 hours, 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM
- One Saturday shift required per month
- Candidate is expected to float as needed
- Epic charting system used
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in MRI specialty required
- Current BLS and ARRT (R) certification required
- Epic experience required
- Experience with Abdomen and Pelvis imaging required
- Teaching hospital and community hospital experience preferred
- Skilled in abdominal MRA/MRV, MRCP, female and male pelvis imaging
- Experience with head and neck imaging including brain, orbits, and MRA/MRV
- Skilled in spine imaging including cervical, thoracic, lumbar, and sacrum/coccyx
- Musculoskeletal imaging experience including extremities, hip, and joints
- Knowledge of isolation precautions/PPE, contrast media preparation and administration, radiation safety, and peripheral IV starts
- License required if applicable
- Valid state license or certification required at time of consideration
- Valid references and copies of certifications required for consideration
Additional Information
- Perform MRI imaging across abdominal, pelvic, head/neck, spine, chest, cardiovascular, and musculoskeletal studies
- Utilize GE, Philips, and Toshiba MRI equipment along with PACS
- Perform special imaging procedures including diffusion, perfusion, spectroscopy, and image post-processing
- Conduct cardiovascular imaging including MR angio, MR aortogram, and MR cardiac studies with and without contrast
- First-time travelers are not considered for this role
- Accepts local candidates within a 50-mile radius at a different rate

Pros
Some of the nurses in the MICU are some of the best people I have ever met. Very high acuity patients but I learned a lot. Amazing teamwork and camaraderie
Cons
The facility is literally falling apart and staffing is terrible sometimes. Management is not as great and supportive as it used to be. Patient population can be difficult to work with (lots of ETOH, withdrawal, ODs, etc)
