Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor and Delivery position requiring 2 years of LDRP experience and Epic proficiency.

Details

• LDRP unit setting with rotation through Labor, Triage, and Postpartum/Mother Baby care
• Postpartum nurses typically care for 3-4 couplets while Labor assignments are 1-2 patients
• Night shift schedule (3x12 hours), 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM
• 20-week assignment length
• On-call requirement averaging 16-20 hours within a 6-week schedule, with option to pick up extra shifts instead
• Floating required in rotation with facility staff according to clinical experience and unit policies
• Uses Epic EMR system

Requirements

• Active RN license (MD or Compact) currently in hand
• Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery/LDRP experience required
• Required certifications: BLS, NRP, and FHM
• AWHONN certification (Beginner, Intermediate, or Advanced) or NCC accepted
• Epic EMR experience required
• OB surgical recovery (C-section) experience highly preferred
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred
• Teaching hospital, community hospital, LTAC, and Trauma Level I experience preferred

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive care across Labor, Triage, and Postpartum/Mother Baby units in a rotating role
• Responsibilities include labor management, high-risk delivery assistance, C-section circulation and recovery, and newborn care
• Skilled care includes fetal monitoring, medication administration (Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, antihypertensives), and postpartum hemorrhage management
• Expected to work some holidays and weekends
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility as local candidates are not accepted
• RTO must be submitted and approved prior to assignment start
• Travelers must separate for a minimum of 90 days after 1 year before returning to the facility
• Former permanent employees must be separated for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
