Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Medical ICU position requiring at least 1 year of ICU experience and a compact or Oklahoma RN license.
Details
- Work in the Medical ICU of a hospital setting
- Provide nursing care to a variety of patients with health conditions ranging from simple to complex
- Night shift schedule, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week (36 hours per week)
Requirements
- Active RN license issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing or a current multistate compact RN license (eNLC)
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association (AHA)
- Minimum of 1 year of RN experience required
- Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program required; BSN preferred
- Strong knowledge of professional nursing theory, practices, techniques, and procedures
- Good verbal and written communication skills
Additional Information
- Assume responsibility for an assigned group of patients, documenting responses to nursing interventions and treatments
- Assist physicians with examinations and minor diagnostic procedures
- Administer medications and initiate, regulate, and monitor IV infusions and blood products
- Communicate care plans with patients and families throughout hospitalization and at discharge
- Delegate tasks to support staff as needed
- Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
- Facility maintains strict compliance deadlines and does not allow push starts, so candidates must complete onboarding promptly
- Travelers may extend a contract one time for a total of 26 weeks; a 6-month separation is required before applying for another contract with this facility
