Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit position requiring 2 years of step-down/ICU experience and NIHSS certification.

Details

• Work in the Progressive Care Stepdown Transitional unit of a 154-bed hospital
• 22-bed cardiac progressive care unit
• Cares for cardiac observation and post cardiac cath lab patients, including cardioversions, adult population
• Patient ratio of 4:1
• Uses telemetry monitoring equipment
• EHR system is Paragon
• Night shift, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Required to work every other weekend
• No on-call responsibilities
• Floating required

Requirements

• Active RN license (NC or Compact) currently in hand
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS (AHA certifications required)
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Step-down/ICU experience required
• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) minimum required
• Team-oriented with good communication skills and flexibility

Additional Information

• Provide cardiac step-down nursing care including monitoring and treatment of cardiac observation and post cath lab patients
• Facility is Joint Commission Accredited and includes a Chest Pain Center
• Navy scrub color required; offensive tattoos and non-facility tops not permitted
• Candidates must live 60 miles or greater from the facility to be eligible for travel rate
• Candidates cannot have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months
• Candidates cannot be employed elsewhere full time
