Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring at least 2 years of ER experience and prior travel assignment history.

Details

  • Work in a General Emergency Department serving a combined adult and pediatric patient population from infants to geriatrics
  • 14-week assignment on night shift, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:00
  • Unit maintains a 1:4 patient ratio across 46 rooms with an average daily census of 135
  • Uses Epic, Pyxis, and SBAR systems
  • Required to work every other weekend unless otherwise specified
  • Floating may be required to a sister campus location
  • No on-call requirements

Requirements

  • Active RN license (GA state or Compact) required
  • Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, PALS; NIHSS preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of ER nursing experience required
  • Prior travel nursing experience required; first-time travelers will not be considered
  • Charting system experience required (any EMR)
  • Skills required include respiratory care, BiPAP/CPAP management, care of ventilated patients, IV therapy/phlebotomy, and central line care/management
  • Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, isolation precautions/PPE, and triage required
  • IV vasopressor administration experience required

Additional Information

  • Deliver emergency care across a wide range of patient acuities in a high-volume ER setting
  • Navy blue scrubs required
  • Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, and all RTO must be finalized at time of submission
  • No RTO can be requested during orientation week or after offer/onsite
  • Holiday coverage required based on how many major holidays fall within the assignment period (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, New Year's Eve/Day)
  • If one or two major holidays occur during the assignment, no holiday RTO can be requested; if three occur, one holiday RTO request may be considered
  • Local candidates accepted at the same rate
  • Former Piedmont perm, per diem, or FCSS staff must be separated from all Piedmont facilities for one full year before applying as a traveler
  • Travelers previously not extended or renewed at a Piedmont facility must complete one successful assignment outside Piedmont before reapplying
  • Compliance documentation must be completed promptly to avoid a two-week delay due to bi-weekly orientation scheduling
