Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN for a night shift position requiring MI licensure, Epic experience, and at least 1 year of acute care experience.

Details

• Work in the Med/Surg Tele unit of a hospital setting
• Night shift schedule with 3x12 hour shifts from 18:00 to 06:30
• Required to work every other weekend
• No on-call or floating requirements
• Unit manages Cardizem, Amiodarone, and Insulin drips
• Unit initiates pressor support for BP management during transport to higher levels of care
• Patient ratio of 1:5
• Uses Epic charting system

Requirements

• Active MI RN license required and in hand by start date (compact license not accepted)
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
• Acute care experience required
• Med Surg and Telemetry experience required
• Epic charting experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Prior charge nurse experience preferred
• Proof of high school level education required

Additional Information

• Must pass a telemetry competency test prior to starting on the unit
• Provide cardiac monitoring including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Skilled in respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP management, oxygen administration, and tracheostomy care
• Experience with IV therapy, blood product administration, and central/peripheral line management
• Familiarity with wound care, wound vac management, and isolation precautions/PPE
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate as travel positions
• First-time travelers are not accepted for this position
• RTO must be submitted at the time of profile submission, with a 5-day maximum RTO policy per assignment
• Returning staff members must wait 12 months before reapplying if previously employed at the facility
• Epic training is completed during orientation
