Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele night shift position requiring a PA or compact RN license and NIHSS certification.
Details
- Work in the Medical/Surgical Telemetry unit of a hospital setting
- Care for patients requiring cardiac telemetry, renal/genitourinary, cardiovascular, neurological, and psychiatric management
- Patient ratio of 1:6
- EMR: Epic experience required
- Night shift schedule, 4x12 hour shifts from 19:00-07:00
- Every other weekend required
- No floating requirement
- No on-call responsibilities
- No block scheduling accommodated
Requirements
- Active RN license (PA or Compact) required at time of consideration
- Current certifications: BLS and NIHSS required
- Minimum 2 years of specialty experience required
- Epic charting system experience required
- Teaching hospital experience preferred
- Trauma Level II experience preferred
- Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, port access/management, blood product administration, and PICC line management
- Skilled in respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP management, high flow nasal cannula, and oxygen administration
- Experience managing cardiac and vasoactive drips (no titration required)
- Experience with continuous bladder irrigation, pre/post hemodialysis management, and renal failure care
- Experience with pacemaker management and pre/post cardiac catheterization care
- Experience with post-TPA care, pre/post neurosurgery, seizure disorders, and substance withdrawal management
- Skilled in wound care and wound vac management
- Valid references and copies of certifications required for consideration
Additional Information
- Provide comprehensive nursing care for medical/surgical telemetry patients including cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and emergency response
- Manage post-cardiac and post-neurological surgical patients
- Monitor and manage patients with seizure disorders, substance withdrawal, and traumatic brain injury
- Scrub color required: Navy Blue
- No holiday coverage requirement
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Local candidates accepted within a 50 mile radius at a differential rate
- RTO must be submitted at time of consideration and cannot be added afterward
