Description

American Traveler is hiring a Progressive Care/Cardiovascular Unit RN for a night shift assignment in Louisville, KY requiring an active KY or compact RN license and BLS/ACLS certification.

Details

• Work in a hospital Cardiovascular Unit providing intermediate care for cardiac surgery patients from pre-op through discharge
• Care for pre/post-cardiac intervention patients including PTCA, cardioversion, generator implants, and TAVR
• Also monitor patients with atypical chest pain
• Full-time night shift schedule, 7p-7a, 36 hours per week
• Weekend and holiday coverage required per unit needs

Requirements

• Active, unrestricted RN license (KY or compact) required
• BLS and ACLS certification required
• ADN or ASN required; BSN preferred
• No prior nursing experience required, though previous nursing experience is preferred
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with interdisciplinary care team
• Ability to assess age-specific patient safety needs and implement appropriate safety measures

Additional Information

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and document findings per RN scope of practice and hospital policy
• Develop and implement individualized care plans in coordination with patients, families, and the interprofessional team
• Facilitate admission, transfer, and discharge processes, including discharge teaching and coordination with case management
• Delegate and oversee tasks performed by other care team members, ensuring accuracy and completeness of care
• Participate in unit-based quality improvement initiatives, including patient satisfaction, fall prevention, and pressure ulcer/CAUTI reduction efforts
• Promote a positive, healing environment through evidence-based nursing practice
