Description
American Traveler is hiring a a night shift Labor and Delivery RN with a minimum of 1 year specialty experience and required BLS and NRP certifications for a critical access hospital.
Details
- Work in the Labor and Delivery (LDRP) unit of a critical access hospital with fewer than 100 births per month
- Care for antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, and newborn patients
- Patient ratios average 1:2-3 with an average daily census of 1-2
- Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 7p-7a
- Required to work every weekend
- No on-call responsibilities
- May float outside the OB unit to support patient watch duties or assist with vital signs, toileting, and repositioning on the medical/surgical unit, with no outside patient assignments
- Uses Epic (Excellian) charting system
Requirements
- Active MN RN license or pending license accepted
- Current BLS and NRP certifications required
- AWHONN Intermediate certification preferred
- Minimum 1 year of Labor and Delivery experience required
- Community hospital experience preferred
- Charge nurse experience preferred
- Skilled in fetal heart monitoring (FHM) and IV starts
- Experience with high-risk delivery assistance preferred
- Epic/Excellian charting experience required
- Must be able to manage all aspects of labor and delivery care
Additional Information
- Provide comprehensive labor and delivery nursing care across all stages of pregnancy and postpartum recovery
- Assist with high-risk deliveries, hemorrhage management, and neonatal care in the delivery room
- Support newborn care including assessments, cord care, and parent discharge teaching
- Scrubs are provided
- Level 4 trauma center setting
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Candidates must reside more than 100 miles from the facility to be considered
- Returning staff must have a 3-month gap since their last shift worked in a perm or per diem role
- RTO requests ideally should not exceed 5 days
- Block scheduling will be considered
