Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced Emergency Department RN cross-trained in psychiatric and main ED care for a night shift assignment requiring a CT or compact RN license.
Details
- , psED, short term acute care, Level III trauma center
- Treats all medical and multiple psychiatric diagnoses across all patient ages
- Primarily scheduled in the psych area with floating to the main ED based on volume or department needs
- Shift is 3x12 nights (1900-0730)
- required to work every other weekend
- Epic EMR used
- Patient ratio typically 1:5-6
Requirements
- >Active RN license (CT or Compact) required
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required (1.5 years considered for Level I trauma or travel experience)
- Community hospital experience required
- Level II trauma experience preferred
- Cross-training in both ED psych and main ED nursing required
- Certifications required: ACLS, BLS, CPI, NIHSS, PALS, TNCC (MAB preferred)
- Epic charting experience required
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- 1 professional reference required for consideration
Additional Information
- Provide emergency nursing care to both psychiatric and general ED patients
- Manage behavioral health conditions including acute psychosis, suicidal patients, and managing violent behavior
- Perform triage, isolation precautions/PPE, and cardiac monitoring as needed
- Scrub color required: royal blue
- Free parking provided as part of the health system
- Flu vaccine required with no declinations accepted
- COVID vaccine and booster required except for religious or medical exemptions
- Up to 7 days of RTO can be auto-approved
- Local candidates not accepted within 75 miles of the hospital site
- Former staff must have been separated for at least 2 years to be eligible as a traveler
