Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Emergency Department RN cross-trained in psychiatric and main ED care for a night shift assignment requiring a CT or compact RN license.

Details

• , psED, short term acute care, Level III trauma center
• Treats all medical and multiple psychiatric diagnoses across all patient ages
• Primarily scheduled in the psych area with floating to the main ED based on volume or department needs
• Shift is 3x12 nights (1900-0730)
• required to work every other weekend
• Epic EMR used
• Patient ratio typically 1:5-6

Requirements

• >Active RN license (CT or Compact) required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required (1.5 years considered for Level I trauma or travel experience)
• Community hospital experience required
• Level II trauma experience preferred
• Cross-training in both ED psych and main ED nursing required
• Certifications required: ACLS, BLS, CPI, NIHSS, PALS, TNCC (MAB preferred)
• Epic charting experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• 1 professional reference required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide emergency nursing care to both psychiatric and general ED patients
• Manage behavioral health conditions including acute psychosis, suicidal patients, and managing violent behavior
• Perform triage, isolation precautions/PPE, and cardiac monitoring as needed
• Scrub color required: royal blue
• Free parking provided as part of the health system
• Flu vaccine required with no declinations accepted
• COVID vaccine and booster required except for religious or medical exemptions
• Up to 7 days of RTO can be auto-approved
• Local candidates not accepted within 75 miles of the hospital site
• Former staff must have been separated for at least 2 years to be eligible as a traveler
