Description
American Traveler is hiring an X-Ray Technologist for a Level III Trauma Center, requiring ARRT certification and acute care experience with general X-ray, trauma, and OR cases.
Details
- Level III Trauma Center with 375 licensed beds
- X-Ray department with 2 X-ray rooms and 1 fluoro room
- Patient population includes general x-rays, portables, OR cases, fluoro, and swallow studies
- Average of 170 patients seen per day
- Night shift does not necessarily require fluoro case experience
- Friday-Sunday shift schedule from 0730-2000
- 12-hour day shifts, with 8, 10, and 12-hour shifts available depending on posting
- Night shifts are always 12-hour shifts
- 36 hours per week
- Fixed weekend rotation schedule, with some positions requiring every weekend
- 2-3 call shifts per month with a 30-minute response time
- Holiday coverage required every other holiday
- Repeating schedule cycle with minor alterations
- May float to OR for Days/Eves shifts, but not typically for nights
- Uses Epic EMR
- Uses Change Healthcare PACS system
- Standard equipment includes Siemens x-ray and fluoro equipment and Shimadzu portable equipment
- Uses Alaris IV pumps, Pyxis medication dispensing, and MedRad injector
Requirements
- Current BLS, ARRT certification, and State license required
- License required if applicable
- Acute care experience required
- Experience with general X-ray, trauma, and OR cases required
- Minimum of 1 year experience in a large Level 3+ trauma facility required
- First-time travelers will be considered if they have experience in a large Level 3+ facility with broad case experience
- No prior experience required with facility-specific equipment
Additional Information
- X-Ray technologists transport their own patients
- Support on the unit includes Lead X-ray Tech, Respiratory Therapy, Hospitalist, Radiologist, RRT, and IR MD/PA for CT cases
- Radiologist is on-site during the day and off-site at night
- Orientation includes NEO and typically lasts 1 week, with additional time if needed
- Scrubs may be any color with a professional appearance, no logos or designs
- Free parking available
- Covid vaccine required at facility
