Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced ICU RN for a 13-week night shift assignment requiring critical care experience and NJ or Compact RN licensure.
Details
- Work in the ICU of a hospital, with ICU and CCU units combined
- Night shift schedule (3x12 hours), 19:00-7:30, every other weekend required
- 13-week assignment length
- Patient ratios of 1:1-3 for critical care and 1:4 if floated to stepdown
- Required to float within skillset to ICU, CCU, CTICU, and Step Down units as needed
- May float to holding areas such as the ED for admitted ICU patients awaiting a bed (not for active ED patients)
- Floating ratios vary based on patient acuity and census
- Epic EMR experience preferred
Requirements
- Active NJ or Compact RN license required
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- NIHSS and Stroke CEUs preferred
- Minimum 1.5 years of acute care/critical care/ICU experience required
- Trauma Level I and Level II experience preferred
- Previous charge experience preferred
- Previous CTICU or medical cardiology experience preferred
- Experience with Swan Ganz catheter monitoring highly preferred
- Exposure to IABP, Impella, and VAD devices preferred
- Skills in arterial line management, care of ventilated patients, and ABG interpretation required
- Experience managing patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure preferred
- Experience titrating cardiac drips preferred
- Two current professional references required
Additional Information
- Provide critical care nursing to ICU, CCU, and CTICU patients, including post cardiac surgery care
- Navy blue scrubs required
- Must be available to work 2 of 3 major holidays
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Previous RWJBH staff (full-time or PRN) must have been separated from the health system for at least 1 year before being eligible for this travel assignment
- Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate
