Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced ER RN for a 13-week travel assignment requiring 2+ years of acute care and travel experience along with BLS, ACLS, and TNCC certifications.
Details
- Work in the Emergency Room of a 217-bed regional health center
- Unit has 17 beds with a 1:6 patient ratio and averages 40 visits per day
- Patient population is primarily adults and geriatrics
- Uses MediTech EHR system
- Shift runs 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM
- Weekend rotation is every other weekend
- Call coverage required 24/7 to support daily volume
- 13-week assignment length
Requirements
- Active RN license (Iowa or Compact) required
- Current certifications: BLS (AHA), ACLS, and TNCC
- Minimum 2 years of acute care facility experience required
- Minimum 2 years of travel nursing experience required
- Must pass an Iowa SING background check including criminal and child abuse portions with no exceptions
- All background checks (county and state) must be fully cleared prior to start; instant or statewide searches not accepted
- Mandatory reporter certification required for both child and adult
- 10-panel drug screening required, including opiates
- Titers required within the last 12 months for MMR, Hepatitis B, Varicella, and TB
- Social Security number and date of birth required for consideration
Additional Information
- Provide emergency care to a primarily adult and geriatric patient population
- Facility offers a wide range of services including Critical Care, Med/Surg, Acute Rehab, OB, Pediatrics, Cath Lab, Diagnostics, Wound Care, Pain Clinic, and Sleep Lab
- Monday or Tuesday start dates accepted
- Must reside more than 60 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
- Candidates who worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months are not eligible
- Candidates cannot be employed elsewhere full time during the assignment
- Located in Ottumwa, IA, known for its river town charm, trails, and low cost of living
