Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced Med/Surg RN for a night shift travel position requiring prior travel nursing and Epic experience.
Details
- Hospital-based Med/Surg unit on the 3rd floor Resource Team
- 27-30 bed unit with patient ratios of 1:5 to 1:6
- Patient population includes ortho and general surgeries, back surgeries, GI issues, renal, oncology, and general medical cases
- Uses Alaris pumps, Kangaroo pumps, vein light, Pyxis medication system, and Vocera communication devices
- Epic EMR system used
- Night shift schedule, 3x12s from 6:00 PM to 6:30 AM
- 36 guaranteed weekly hours
- Required to work every third weekend (Saturday/Sunday)
- No call requirements
- Float required between three Med/Surg units in Lafayette
Requirements
- Active IN or compact RN license required
- BLS and NIHSS certifications required
- Minimum 3 years of RN experience required
- Previous travel Med/Surg experience required
- Telemetry experience required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Experience with general and ortho post-op care, Heparin drip management, and blood administration preferred
- Navy blue scrubs required
- No non-facility-branded sweatshirts or jackets permitted
- No facial piercings permitted
Additional Information
- Deliver Med/Surg nursing care across a fast-paced, high-acuity unit
- Must be independent and comfortable seeking guidance when needed
- Must be flexible and adaptable to changing unit demands
- Required to complete computer-based training modules prior to first day of clinical orientation
- Opportunity to test out of additional Epic training if EMR has been used within the past year
- Local candidates within a 50-mile radius accepted at a reduced bill rate
