Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced Med/Surg Tele RN for a 13-week acute care assignment requiring an active IL RN license and at least 2 years of MS/Tele experience.
Details
- Med/Surg Tele unit within an acute care Magnet-designated hospital
- Unit staffs 31 beds within a 222-bed facility
- Patient ratios of 1:5-6
- Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 6:45 to 19:15
- Every other weekend required, equating to 6 weekend shifts over a 6-week period
- On-call responsibilities required
- Float required within scope to other MS/Tele units at both Memorial Belleville and Memorial Shiloh locations
- Specializes in surgical patients following the ERAS (Enhanced Recovery after Surgery) protocol
- Uses EPIC for charting
- Navy blue scrubs required
Requirements
- Active IL RN license required, must be in hand at time of consideration
- BLS certification required
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- First-time travelers considered with at least 3 years of MS/Tele experience
- Experience with neurological/psychiatric, pre/post neurosurgery, orthopedics, and total joint replacement patients preferred
- Post-surgical and orthopedic skills preferred
Additional Information
- Provide direct patient care to surgical patients following ERAS order sets and protocols
- Candidates must reside outside a 75-mile radius of the facility, as local candidates are not accepted
- Maximum RTO of 7 days per 13-week contract, with no RTO permitted during the first week of the assignment
- Standard travelers may work at BJC facilities for up to 18 months, followed by a required 3-month break in service
- Permanent employees of BJC or Saint Luke's must wait 1 year before returning to any BJC facility as a traveler
- All travelers are required to float within their service line as needed
- Facial hair must allow for proper respirator fit testing or must be shaved
