Description
American Traveler is hiring a Night Shift RN for a Progressive Care Unit position requiring 2 years of acute inpatient PCU experience and Epic proficiency.
Details
- Work in a 32-bed Advanced Surgical Med-Surg unit specializing in bariatric, GI, and colorectal surgical patients
- Patient ratio of 5-6:1
- Night shift schedule from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM, every other weekend
- 36 hours per week over 3 twelve-hour shifts
- RN reads telemetry with no titration responsibilities
- Administers medications including TPN and pain management
- Utilizes skills for PCA, feeding tubes, trach care, peritoneal dialysis, and wound vac management
- Uses Epic EMR system
Requirements
- Active RN license (KY or Compact)
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
- Minimum 2 years of acute inpatient PCU RN experience
- Nursing Diploma or Associate's Degree (ASN) required
- Epic EMR experience required
Additional Information
- Provide safe, effective, patient and family-centered care while managing a group of patients
- Perform ongoing assessments and reassessments, adjusting care plans as patient conditions warrant
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and coordinate patient/family education throughout treatment and at discharge
- Supervise and delegate tasks to licensed and non-licensed staff, serving as a mentor and preceptor
- Participate in quality improvement, safety initiatives, and regulatory compliance efforts
