Description
American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Progressive Care Unit position requiring 2 years of acute inpatient PCU experience and Epic proficiency.
Details
- Work in a 32-bed Advanced Surgical Med-Surg unit specializing in bariatric, GI, and colorectal surgical patients
- Patient ratio of 5-6:1
- RN reads telemetry but does not perform titration
- Administers medications including TPN and pain management
- Performs skills such as PCA management, feeding tube care, trach care, peritoneal dialysis, and wound vac management
- Uses Epic EMR system
- Day shift schedule from 6:45am to 7:15pm, every other weekend
- 36 hours per week across 3 shifts, 12 hours per shift
Requirements
- Active RN license (KY or Compact)
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
- Minimum 2 years of acute inpatient PCU RN experience required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Nursing Diploma or Associate's Degree (ASN) required
Additional Information
- Provide safe, effective patient and family-centered care while promoting quality outcomes and customer satisfaction
- Perform patient assessments and reassessments, developing and implementing individualized care plans
- Collaborate with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care
- Facilitate patient and family education specific to care, treatment, and discharge needs
- Delegate tasks to licensed and non-licensed staff while serving as a mentor and preceptor
- Participate in quality, safety, and service improvement initiatives
- Comply with regulatory standards and participate in the unit's Practice Governance model
