Description
American Traveler is hiring an RN for a high-volume Emergency Department at a Level II trauma center, requiring at least 1 year of ER experience and NC/compact RN licensure.
Details
- Work in a 101-bed Emergency Care Center within a Level II trauma center and comprehensive stroke center
- Care for a high-volume ED population exceeding 100,000 visits annually
- Typical patient ratios are 4:1 for medical patients, up to 7:1 for behavioral health holds
- Supported by unit techs in cardiac monitoring, internal processing, triage, and unit clerk roles
- Uses Baxter pumps and GE monitors for patient care
- Documentation completed in Cerner
- Night shift schedule from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM
- Every other weekend required with scheduling based on departmental needs
- No block scheduling commitments available
- No floating outside the ED, but flexibility to float to all ED sections is required
Requirements
- Active RN license (NC or Compact) required
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience with at least 1 year in an ER setting
- Level II trauma center, comprehensive stroke center, or high-volume ED experience preferred
- Required certifications prior to start date: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, CPI, and NIHSS
- ENPC certification required within 90 days of hire
- Strong teamwork skills with the ability to coach and provide real-time feedback
- Flexibility to work across all areas of the ED
