Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a high-volume Level II trauma Emergency Department, requiring 2+ years of RN experience and multiple specialty certifications.

Details

• Level II trauma center and comprehensive stroke center Emergency Department with over 100,000 annual visits
• 101-bed unit with typical patient ratios of 4:1 for medical patients and up to 7:1 for behavioral holds
• Support staff includes techs in cardiac monitoring and internal processing, triage staff, and unit clerks for both day and night shifts
• Uses Baxter pumps and GE monitors for patient care
• Documentation completed in Cerner
• Night shift schedule from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM
• Every other weekend rotation required with scheduling based on departmental needs, not block scheduling
• No floating outside of the ED, but flexibility required to float across all ED sections
• 13-week assignment

Requirements

• Active RN license (NC or Compact) required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience, including at least 1 year in an Emergency Department setting
• Experience in a Level II trauma center, comprehensive stroke center, or high-volume ED (100,000+ visits) preferred
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, CPI, and NIHSS prior to start date
• ENPC certification required within 90 days of hire
• Strong teamwork mentality with the ability to coach and provide real-time feedback
• Flexibility to work across all areas of the ED

• Deliver a strong patient experience using AIDET principles, maintaining respectful communication and updated patient boards throughout each visit
