Description
American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist for a NICU/PEDS position requiring an RRT (CRT considered) and at least 2 years of experience at a Level II Trauma Center with a Level III NICU.
Details
- Level II Trauma Center and Level III NICU hospital setting with 417 beds
- Position within the Respiratory Therapy department
- Cares for pediatric critical care, neonatal critical care, and general inpatient respiratory patients
- Uses ventilators including Draeger V500, Savina 300, 3100A Oscillator, and Hamilton C1/MRI
- Uses ResMed APAP, CPAP, and Bi-level devices
- Uses Airvo2 high flow devices, Cough Assist, Incourage vest, ABL90 blood gas machines, IPV, and Praxair iNO
- EPIC EMR experience required; Omnicell also used
- 6/12 hour variable shift schedule at 36 hours per week
- Weekend rotation every other weekend
- On-call generally not required except for planned events
- Floats throughout the hospital and ED but not to other facilities unless specifically hired for that
Requirements
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) required; CRT may be considered based on experience
- South Dakota RCP License required prior to submission (license required if applicable)
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
- NRP certification required if working in NICU
- Minimum 2 years of experience required
- AA Degree required
- Critical care and general respiratory care experience required
- First-time travelers considered upon manager review with strong experience
Additional Information
- Provide respiratory therapy services across pediatric, neonatal, and general inpatient populations
- Supported by Charge RT/Respiratory Clinical Specialist available 24/7 as well as supervisors, manager, and director
- Facility is on the journey to Magnet Status designation and is a teaching hospital
- Also designated as a Primary Stroke and Chest Pain Center
- Orientation provided through the Rapid City Hospital Respiratory Care Department
- Expected to work holidays that fall within contract dates
- Time off requests of up to 7 days may be accommodated based on department needs; a full week off requires contract extension
- Scrub color required is pewter
- Free parking available
- Facility is known for being very traveler-friendly and welcomes contract renewals
- Radius requirement of 100 miles applies; local candidates within this radius are not eligible
