Description
American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Progressive Care Unit position requiring 2 years of acute inpatient PCU experience and proficiency in neuro care.
Details
- Work in a 42-bed Transitional Care Unit (3E/3W TCU)
- Patient ratios of 4:1 or 3:1
- Patient population includes stroke, transplant, and Parkinson's disease cases
- Uses Epic EMR
- Uses equipment including dynamap and bladder scanner
- Administers medications including insulin, Cardizem, Amiodarone, heparin, and nitroglycerin, with frequent time-critical medication administration
- Night shift schedule from 6:45p-7:15a
- 3 shifts per week at 12 hours per shift, totaling 36 hours weekly
- Required to work every 3rd weekend
- RN must read telemetry and titrate medications accordingly
Requirements
- Active RN license (KY or Compact) required
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
- Minimum 2 years of acute inpatient PCU RN experience required
- Nursing Diploma or Associate's Degree (ASN) required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Proficiency in neuro care required

- Responsible for assessing, developing, implementing, and evaluating patient plans of care
- Delegates tasks to licensed and non-licensed personnel and functions as a mentor/preceptor
- Facilitates patient and family education throughout care and at discharge
- Participates in quality, safety, and process improvement efforts
