Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring Level 2 trauma or high-volume ED experience and multiple advanced certifications.
Details
- Fast-paced Emergency Care Center with 101 beds
- Patient ratios typically 4:1 for medical patients, up to 7:1 for behavioral health holds
- Techs support cardiac monitoring, internal processing, and triage areas with unit clerks on days and nights
- Uses Baxter pumps and GE monitors
- Charting is done in Cerner
- Shift runs 12:45 PM to 1:15 AM
- Every other weekend required, with scheduling based on departmental needs rather than block scheduling
- No floating outside the ED, but must be flexible to work in all ED sections
Requirements
- Active RN license (NC or compact) required
- BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, CPI, and NIHSS certifications required prior to start date
- ENPC certification required within 90 days of hire
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience, including at least 1 year in an ER setting
- 2 years of experience in a Level 2 trauma center, comprehensive stroke center, or high-volume ED (100,000+ visits) preferred
- Previous HCA experience preferred
- Strong teamwork mentality with ability to coach and give real-time feedback
- Flexibility to work in all areas of the ED
- US SSN and DOB required for consideration (Canadian SSN not accepted)
- One professional reference required
- No employment gaps of 90+ days in the past 12 months
Additional Information
- Deliver patient care in accordance with AIDET and other patient experience standards
- Ensure patient boards are updated and patients are informed throughout their visit
- Navy scrubs required as part of dress code
- Attendance policy provided on day 1
- Department known for strong teamwork and a welcoming culture
- Serves a diverse, multi-cultural community representing over 120 languages
- Candidates must live outside a 50-mile radius of the facility, no local candidates accepted
