Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring a WI or compact RN license and at least two years of acute care experience with EPIC proficiency.
Details
- Work in the MS/Tele unit of a Magnet-designated teaching hospital
- 13-week contract assignment
- Day shift (3x12 hours, 0700-1930) and night shift (3x12 hours, 1900-0730) options available
- Every other weekend rotation required
- Holiday coverage required as needed
- Floating required as needed
- Uses EPIC EMR system
- Provides cardiac monitoring and telemetry care
- Utilizes respiratory support equipment including nasal cannula and oxygen administration
Requirements
- Active WI RN license or compact RN license required
- BLS certification required (AHA only)
- Minimum two years of acute care experience within the last 3 years in the specialty
- EPIC EMR experience required, ideally within the past 12 months
- Teaching hospital experience required
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- Must pass a telemetry competency exam with strict passing criteria prior to start
- Skilled in IV therapy and phlebotomy
- Experience with blood product administration
- Central line and peripheral line care and management
- PICC line management experience
- Proficient in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
- Experience utilizing rapid response and code teams
- Knowledge of isolation precautions and PPE use
- Experience with IV insulin protocols and titration of insulin drips
Additional Information
- Care for patients on a Medical-Surgical Telemetry unit within a nationally ranked, Magnet-designated teaching hospital
- Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility, as local candidates are not accepted
- Telemetry exam must be passed with strict criteria, including 100% accuracy on lethal rhythm identification, before starting the assignment
- Up to three exam attempts allowed, with a cardiac interpretation review course required after a second failed attempt
- Parking permit required if parking onsite, though public transportation and other options are available
