Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring a WI or compact RN license and prior telemetry experience.
Details
- Work in the Med/Surg Tele unit of a Magnet-designated teaching hospital
- Day and night 12-hour shifts (0700-1930 or 1900-0730) with every other weekend rotation
- Holiday coverage required as needed
- Floating required as needed
- Uses Epic EMR system
Requirements
- Active WI RN license or compact RN license required
- BLS certification required (AHA only)
- Minimum 2 years of acute care experience within the last 3 years in Med/Surg Tele specialty required
- Epic EMR experience required, with experience within the past 12 months preferred
- Teaching hospital experience required
- Must pass a telemetry competency exam prior to starting, covering adult and pediatric dysrhythmia identification with strict passing criteria
- Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, blood product administration, and central/peripheral/PICC line care and management
- Skilled in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and use of rapid response/code teams
- Experience with isolation precautions/PPE and IV insulin protocols including insulin drip titration
- Experience with respiratory care including nasal cannula, oxygen administration, and non-invasive airway management
Additional Information
- Located at a nationally ranked teaching hospital and referral center in Madison, WI
- Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates will not be accepted
- Prior travel nursing experience required, so first-time travelers will not be considered for this role
- Telemetry exam allows up to two attempts to pass; a third attempt requires submission of a completed cardiac interpretation review course certificate
- Parking permit required for onsite parking, with alternative transportation options available
