Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Cardiac/Pulmonary Med-Surg unit requiring Cardiac/Tele, Level 1 Trauma, and EPIC charting experience.

Details

• Cardiac/Pulmonary Medical-Surgical unit in a Level 1 Trauma hospital setting
• Manages care of acute and chronically ill cardiac and pulmonary patients
• Night shift schedule: 7:00PM - 7:30AM, 3 shifts per week (36 hours)
• 6 weekend shifts required per six-week schedule
• Rotating holiday coverage required
• Floating to similar units required
• No on-call responsibilities
• EPIC EMR used for documentation

Requirements

• Active Illinois RN license in good standing (temporary license accepted)
• BLS and ACLS certification (American Heart Association)
• Minimum one year of relevant nursing experience required
• ASN required, BSN preferred
• Cardiac/Telemetry experience required
• Level 1 Trauma experience required
• EPIC charting experience required
• Skilled in IV venipuncture, medication administration, blood administration, pain management, and lab monitoring

Additional Information

• Responsible for full nursing process including assessment, care planning, intervention, and evaluation for a group of patients
• Prepares patients for procedures and provides discharge instructions for safe transition from hospital
• Participates in team huddles, delegates with appropriate follow-up, and practices professional communication and conflict management
• Answers call lights and ensures basic patient care standards such as turning and toileting are met
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be considered; no local candidates accepted
• RTO not to exceed 7 total days per 13-week contract
• Contingent workers may not remain on assignment at this health system for more than 1 year without a 6-month break in service before returning
