Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN Case Manager for a 13-week acute hospital assignment requiring 2 years of case management experience and an active CA RN license.

Details

• Acute hospital Case Management department
• Day shift, 5x8-hour shifts from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
• Required to work every other weekend
• Floating required between like units and sister facilities based on need
• No on-call responsibilities
• Epic charting system used

Requirements

• Active CA RN license (Compact or Standard) required in hand at submission
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of acute hospital Case Management experience performing care coordination and discharge planning
• Prior travel nursing experience required, though first-time travelers may be considered with clinical manager approval
• Epic EMR experience required
• 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty/setting

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include care coordination, discharge planning, needs assessment, DME ordering, prior authorizations, admission criteria review, and appeals and denials management
• Knowledge of CMS, DRG, HIPAA guidelines, and Joint Commission/Core Measure/National Safety Goals required
• Workers' compensation case management experience preferred
• Local candidates accepted within a 50-mile radius at a lower bill rate
• Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and cannot be within 50 miles of the facility
• Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• All RTO requests must be submitted upfront at the time of application
• Free parking provided on the first day, with assignment parking details given during orientation
