Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a PACU/Pre-Op/Phase 2 position requiring 1-2 years of specialty experience and Epic charting proficiency.

Details

• PACU, Pre-Op, and Phase 2 recovery care in an acute care teaching hospital with Level 3 trauma designation
• Rotates between two locations within the same hospital system: main hospital and Day Surgery Center
• 1:1 patient ratios
• Day shift schedule (5x8 hours), with start times of 0800, 0930, or 1100
• Weekend shifts as needed per unit requirements
• No on-call requirements
• Floating required to main hospital and Day Surgery Center locations, as well as potentially to affiliate hospitals nearby
• Uses Epic (Excellian) charting system

Requirements

• Active MN RN license required (pending license accepted)
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required; NIHSS certification required
• 1-2 years of recent PACU specialty experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Epic charting system experience required
• Experience with PACU-related skills such as airway assessment, ABG interpretation, cardiac monitoring, and pre/post-operative patient care
• Minimum of 1 supervisor reference required for consideration
• Documentation required for consideration includes date of birth, SSN, certification copies, and Nursys verification
• Must be willing to complete Minnesota-mandated LiveScan fingerprinting as part of the background check process

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive PACU, Pre-Op, and Phase 2 recovery nursing care across two hospital locations
• Perform pre- and post-operative assessments, patient education, and discharge instructions
• Manage patients recovering from a wide range of surgical specialties including cardiac, neuro, ortho, vascular, and general surgery
• Scrubs provided by the unit
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Candidates must reside more than 100 miles from the facility to be considered, with no local candidate exceptions for this position
• Former Allina perm staff or per diem employees must have a 3-month gap since their last shift to be eligible
• RTO should ideally not exceed 5 days during the assignment
• Allina does not provide references to travelers after assignment completion or if previously employed as permanent staff
• Pre-start training modules are required and must be completed prior to the assignment start date
