Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Neuro Med/Surg unit position requiring an active IL RN license and at least three years of nursing experience.

Details

• Work in a Neuro Med/Surg unit caring for patients with mild to severe brain injury due to stroke, trauma, or surgery
• Night shift schedule with 3x12-hour shifts totaling 36 hours per week
• Requires working 6 weekend days per scheduling period
• Holiday coverage follows a per-unit rotation
• Floating required for the duration of the 13-week assignment
• Utilizes EPIC EMR for charting

Requirements

• Active Illinois RN license in good standing (temporary license accepted)
• Current BLS certification (American Heart Association)
• Minimum three years of relevant nursing experience
• ASN required; BSN preferred
• EPIC charting experience required
• Level 1 Trauma center experience required
• Skilled in neurological assessment and seizure response

Additional Information

• Responsible for patient assessments, medication administration, and care planning using the nursing process
• Performs bedside shift report and delegates tasks to HCTs as needed
• Maintains patient safety through fall prevention, pressure ulcer prevention, and isolation precautions
• Uses critical thinking to identify and respond to neurological changes and seizure activity
• RTO not to exceed 7 total days per 13-week contract
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility as local candidates are not accepted for this position
• Contingent workers may not exceed one continuous year on assignment before requiring a 6-month break in service
