Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Neuro Med/Surg unit position requiring an active IL RN license and a minimum of three years of nursing experience.
Details
- Med/Surg Neuro unit within a hospital setting
- Care for patients with mild to severe brain injury resulting from stroke, trauma, or surgery
- Day shift schedule with 3x12-hour shifts totaling 36 hours per week
- 6 weekend shifts required per scheduling period
- Holiday coverage required on a per-unit rotation basis
- Utilizes Epic EMR for charting
Requirements
- Active Illinois RN license required (temporary license accepted)
- Minimum of three years of relevant nursing experience
- Current BLS certification (American Heart Association)
- ASN required, BSN preferred
- Level 1 Trauma center experience required
- Epic EMR charting experience required
- Demonstrated skills in neurological care, seizure response, medication administration, documentation, safety compliance, and interdisciplinary collaboration
Additional Information
- Provide comprehensive nursing care including patient assessments, care planning, medication administration, and patient education
- Identify and respond immediately to neurological changes and seizure activity
- Delegate and oversee patient care tasks performed by health care technicians
- Maintain patient safety through fall precautions, isolation precautions, and pressure ulcer prevention
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to ensure coordinated, safe patient care
- Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
- RTO limited to no more than 7 total days during the 13-week contract
- Assignment length limited to 1 year at this health system, requiring a 6-month break in service before returning
