Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced Interventional Radiology RN with active NJ or Compact licensure and proficiency in central line and PICC care for a 13-week teaching hospital assignment.
Details
- Interventional Radiology unit within a quaternary care teaching hospital
- High-acuity patient population including cardiac and transplant cases requiring minimally invasive, image-guided procedures
- Day shift schedule with 4x10 hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM, including two 30-minute breaks
- Every other weekend required
- Must work 1 of 2 or 2 of 3 holidays per unit needs
- Floating required within skillset with no exceptions; ratios vary based on census and patient acuity
- Circulates IR procedures including vascular, oncologic, pulmonary, and genitourinary cases
- EPIC charting system experience required
Requirements
- Active NJ or Compact RN license required at time of consideration
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Minimum 1 year of relevant nursing experience required
- EPIC charting experience required
- Proficient in PICC and midline nursing care with ability to administer moderate sedation and circulate in IR procedures
- Experience considered from OR/CVOR, ICU/CCU, or Cath Lab backgrounds
- Skilled in central line insertion and management, PICC care, implanted port maintenance, IV therapy, infusion pumps, and blood product administration
- Experience with procedural sedation monitoring, radiation/laser safety, and end-tidal CO2 monitoring required
- Proficient in chest tube placement, lung biopsy, pulmonary angiography/embolization, thoracentesis, chemoembolization, liver biopsy/ablation, paracentesis, and TIPS procedures
- Skilled in nephrostomy, renal angiography/stent placement, and uterine arterial embolization
- Knowledge of emergency medications, sedation administration/monitoring, and reversal agents required
- Teaching hospital and community hospital experience preferred
- Previous charge experience preferred

- Provide comprehensive IR nursing care across vascular, oncologic, pulmonary, and genitourinary procedures for a high-acuity patient population
- Work within a nationally recognized cardiac and transplant program, including one of the nation's largest heart transplant centers
- Perform pre- and post-procedure care alongside special procedures support
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Local candidates accepted at the same rate
- Previous RWJBH staff (full-time or PRN) must have a minimum 1-year break from the health system before returning for a travel assignment
