Description
American Traveler is hiring an Operating Room RN for a night shift position at a Level I trauma, academic teaching hospital requiring SC or Compact RN licensure and OR experience.
Details
- Main Operating Room within a Level I trauma, academic teaching hospital with 21 OR suites
- Covers all surgical specialties including Trauma, Transplant, Ortho, Neuro, ENT, GU-GYN, and Robotics
- Nursing team is 75% RNs and 25% Certified Surgical Technologists, with RNs trained to both scrub and circulate
- Night shift, 3x12 hours, 6:30pm-7:00am
- No on-call requirement
- Up to one working weekend shift every 4 weeks
- Required to work at least one holiday period (Christmas or New Year's)
- Floating required within scope to meet facility needs, including sister facilities
- Charting completed in EPIC
Requirements
- Active SC or Multi-State/Compact RN license required
- BLS certification required (AHA only)
- Radiation badge required (provided by agency)
- 2 years of OR experience strongly preferred
- Scrub experience strongly preferred
- Level I trauma center experience preferred
- Driver's license and SSN required for consideration
Additional Information
- Magnet designated department providing cutting-edge surgical technology
- Scrub color provided by facility
- Must reside within 60 miles for local candidate consideration; non-local candidates are prioritized
- Previous MUSC perm or PRN staff must be separated from the system for 1 year before returning as a traveler
- Block scheduling may be requested but requires manager approval and is not guaranteed
- First-time travelers may be accepted depending on position needs
- All requested time off must be submitted at time of application for consideration
- During hurricane season (June through November), staff may be assigned to emergency response teams
