Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced PACU RN for a teaching hospital with 1:1 patient ratios and required Epic charting experience.

Details

• Provide care in PACU, Pre-Op, and Phase 2 Recovery settings across the main hospital and a Day Surgery Center within the same health system
• Patient ratio of 1:1
• Day shift schedule with 4x12 hour shifts starting at 0800, 0930, or 1100
• Weekend shifts required as needed per unit needs
• No on-call requirements
• Float required between main hospital and Day Surgery Center locations within scope
• Acute care teaching hospital with Level III trauma designation and 317 staffed beds

Requirements

• Active MN RN license (pending license accepted)
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certification required; NIHSS preferred
• 1-2 years of PACU/Pre-Op/Phase 2 experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Epic (Excellian) charting experience required
• Minimum one supervisor reference required for consideration

Additional Information

• Care for surgical patients across a wide range of specialties including cardiac, neuro/spine, ortho, vascular, GI, GYN, urology, and plastics
• Perform pre-op and post-op assessments, patient education, discharge instructions, and medication reconciliation
• Skilled in airway management, ventilator care, chest tube management, and arterial/central line care
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia recognition, and hemodynamic management preferred
• Must reside at least 100 miles from the facility to be considered, as local candidates are not accepted for this position
• Candidates must be gone at least 3 months from last shift worked as a perm employee (staff or per diem) to be eligible for return
• RTO should ideally be limited to no more than 5 days
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Pre-start onboarding modules required, averaging 8 hours of completion time
• Scrubs provided by the unit
