Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Labor & Delivery role requiring C-EFM certification and at least one completed travel assignment.

Details

• Labor and Delivery unit within a hospital setting
• 3x12 night shift schedule (18:50-07:20)
• 1:2 patient ratio
• Call required: 2 shifts per 6-week schedule
• Every other weekend required
• Floating expected to Mother/Baby or other qualified units when needed

Requirements

• Active RN license (MD or Compact) required
• Required certifications: C-EFM (NCC), BLS, NRP, STABLE
• ACLS preferred
• 3 years of L&D experience preferred, 2 years with strong experience considered
• 2 years of recent experience within the last 7 years required
• Cerner charting system experience preferred
• Charge experience preferred
• Scrub experience preferred
• Must have completed at least one prior travel assignment
• Two supervisory references required, including one from the most recent assignment

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive L&D nursing care including labor management, delivery assistance, and postpartum care
• Perform fetal monitoring and recognize/treat abnormal fetal heart rate patterns
• Administer medications such as Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, and antihypertensives as needed
• Support high-risk antepartum and postpartum patients including cesarean and multiple births
• Assist with neonatal care in the delivery room including APGAR scoring and thermoregulation
• Local candidates within 60 miles accepted at a lower pay rate
• No RTO permitted during the first two weeks of the assignment; maximum 7 days RTO per 13-week contract
• Previous MedStar employees must have been separated for at least one year before returning as a traveler
