Description
American Traveler is hiring a Labor & Delivery RN for a night shift travel assignment requiring C-EFM (NCC) certification and prior L&D experience.
Details
- Labor and Delivery unit within a hospital setting
- Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts from 18:50 to 07:20
- Patient ratio of 1:2
- Every other weekend required
- Call required: 2 shifts per 6-week schedule
- May float to Mother/Baby or scrub roles if qualified
- Uses Cerner charting system
Requirements
- Active RN license (Compact or MD state license) required
- Required certifications: BLS, NRP, STABLE, and C-EFM through NCC in hand at time of application
- ACLS certification preferred
- 3 years of Labor & Delivery experience preferred; 2 years with strong experience may be considered
- Charge nurse experience preferred
- Scrub experience preferred
- Cerner charting experience preferred
- Must have completed at least one prior travel assignment
- Two supervisory references required, including one from most recent assignment
- Skills in fetal monitoring (external and internal), IUPC placement/calibration, and high-risk delivery assistance
- Experience with Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, and other obstetric medication administration
- Teaching hospital, community hospital, and Trauma Level I experience preferred
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include assisting with vaginal and C-section deliveries, fetal monitoring, and postpartum care
- Supports high-risk antepartum and postpartum patients, including hemorrhage and hypertension management
- Provides newborn care including APGAR scoring, thermoregulation, and initial assessments
- Local candidates within 60 miles accepted at a lower pay rate
- Candidates must reside within 60 miles to qualify for local status, verified against driver's license address
- Previous MedStar employees must have been separated for at least one year before returning as a travel nurse
- No RTO permitted during the first two weeks of the assignment
- Maximum RTO of 7 days per 13-week contract, must be submitted with initial application
- First-time travelers are not eligible; at least one prior travel assignment is required
