Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced Labor & Delivery RN for a night shift assignment requiring C-EFM certification and at least one prior travel assignment.
Details
- Labor and Delivery unit within a hospital setting
- Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts (18:50-07:20)
- Patient ratio of 1:2
- Cerner EMR experience preferred
- Will float to Mother/Baby if qualified
- Call required, 2 shifts per 6-week schedule
- Every other weekend required
Requirements
- Active MD or Compact RN license required
- Required certifications: C-EFM (NCC), BLS, NRP, STABLE
- ACLS certification preferred
- 3 years of Labor & Delivery experience preferred, will consider 2 years with strong experience
- 2 years of recent experience within the last 7 years required
- Charge nurse experience preferred
- Scrub experience preferred
- Skilled in labor and delivery management including assisting with vaginal and high-risk deliveries
- Experience with C-section circulation and recovery, scrub experience for C-section preferred
- Competent in fetal monitoring including external and internal fetal monitoring and IUPC placement
- Experience with antepartum care, NST/OCT testing, and obstetrical triage
- Experience with postpartum care including cesarean section, multiple births, and postpartum hemorrhage management
- Skilled in newborn care including APGAR scoring and thermoregulation
- Two supervisory references required, including one from most recent assignment, supporting at least 2 years of experience in the previous 3 years
- Must have completed at least one travel assignment
Additional Information
- Provide comprehensive labor, delivery, and postpartum nursing care
- Perform sterile vaginal exams, fetal heart rate monitoring, and assist with high-risk deliveries
- Support antepartum, postpartum, and newborn care needs
- Nurses with previous employment at this health system must have been separated for at least one year before returning as a traveler
- No RTO permitted during the first two weeks of the assignment
- Maximum of 7 days RTO per 13-week contract
- Local candidates within 60 miles accepted at a lower rate
- First-time travelers not considered for this position
