Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced OR/Pain Management RN for a day-shift outpatient surgery center role requiring procedural and pre/post-op experience with a PA or compact RN license.
Details
- Pain Management unit with 2 procedure rooms and 5 office rooms
- Day shift schedule, Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM
- Patient ratios of 1:4 in Pre/Post-op and 1:2 in the Procedure Room
- Floating required to SPU, Pain Center, and PACU
- No weekend or on-call requirements
- Uses Epic charting system
Requirements
- Active RN license (PA license or compact required)
- Current BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
- Minimum of 2-3 years of procedural nursing experience (GI/OR/Moderate Sedation)
- Pre/Post-op and outpatient surgery center experience required
- Epic charting system experience required
- Teaching hospital, LTAC, Trauma Level I, and Trauma Level II experience required
- Valid state license or certification required at time of consideration
- Valid professional references and copies of certifications required for consideration
Additional Information
- Provide nursing care across pain management procedures including nerve blocks, epidural and intrathecal analgesia, and pharmacological pain management
- Manage special populations including confused, non-communicative, older adult, and suspected substance abuse patients
- Perform office duties such as discharge instructions, follow-up calls, pharmacy refill calls, and medication reconciliation
- Utilize pain scales including FLACC, Wong-Baker Faces, and numerical rating scales for patient assessment
- Scrub color requirement: Ceil Blue
- Candidates must reside within a 50-mile radius to qualify for local rate; local candidates accepted at a different rate
- RTO must be submitted at time of consideration; no additional time off accepted after submission
- PA fingerprints and Childline clearance required within 12 months of start date
- Pass/fail clinical exam not required for this OR-designated position
