Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring tele experience and PALS certification due to pediatric admissions.

Details

• Short term acute care hospital with 78 staffed beds
• Med/Surg unit with telemetry monitoring, admits pediatric patients
• Patient ratio of 1:5 to 1:6
• Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours (6:30 AM-6:00 PM)
• Minimum of 3 weekends required within a 6 week period
• Possibility of on-call assignment based on unit needs
• Possibility of floating to other units or an affiliate hospital depending on census
• Uses Meditech charting system
• If a shift is called off, an additional shift must be picked up to make up for it

Requirements

• Active IN or compact RN license required (must obtain before start if not yet held)
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, and NIHSS
• PALS certification must be obtained prior to starting due to pediatric admissions to the unit
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
• Telemetry experience required
• Med/Surg and ambulatory experience preferred
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Must be comfortable caring for pediatric patients

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care on a Med/Surg Tele unit including telemetry monitoring and emergency response
• Scrubs of any color are accepted as long as a professional appearance is maintained
• Maximum RTO of 7 days, with willingness to work at least 1 of 3 major holidays if RTO falls during that time
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Candidates local within 50 miles of the hospital are accepted
• Previous employees must have been separated from the facility for at least 3 years before returning as a traveler
• Up to 8 hours of onboarding modules preferred to be completed within 1 week of signing
