Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN Case Manager for an acute care hospital, requiring prior travel experience and 2 years of recent acute medical Care Management/Care Coordination experience.

• Acute care hospital setting within the Case Management department
• Patient ratio of 1:25
• Day shift schedule, 5x8 hours, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
• Variable 5-day workweek with department operations occurring 7 days per week
• Days off will vary and are not guaranteed to be consecutive
• Float to a nearby sister facility required
• Epic EMR experience required

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required, pending license accepted if licensed by start date
• 2 years of recent acute medical Care Manager experience performing Care Coordination required within the last 3 months
• Prior travel experience required
• Trauma Level I and II experience preferred
• Epic charting experience required
• Experience in Case Management/Utilization Review including Appeals and Denials, Care Coordination, Disability Case Management, Discharge Planning, Disease Management, Needs Assessment/DME Ordering, Plan of Care, and Worker's Comp Case Management
• Familiarity with regulatory standards including CMS, Department of Health, DRG, HIPAA, OSHA, The Joint Commission/Core Measures/National Patient Safety Goals, and Workers Compensation
• ED, ICU, and Surgical Services experience preferred
• Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required
• Full SSN and DOB required for consideration

Additional Information

• Coordinate patient care, discharge planning, and case management activities within an acute care hospital
• Turquoise scrubs or business casual attire required
• No more than 7 days of RTO permitted
• Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• Local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate
• Radius requirement of 50 miles for local candidate consideration
• Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
