Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN Case Manager for an acute care hospital, requiring prior travel experience and 2+ years of acute medical care coordination experience.
Details
- Acute care hospital setting within the Case Management department
- Day shift schedule, 5x8-hour shifts from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
- Patient ratio of 1:25
- Variable 5-day workweek with department operations occurring 7 days per week
- Days off will vary and are not guaranteed to be consecutive
- Floating required to a sister facility in Laguna
- Epic EMR experience required
Requirements
- Active CA RN license required; pending license accepted if licensed by start date
- Minimum 2 years of recent acute medical Care Manager experience performing care coordination within the last 3 months
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- Trauma Level I and Level II experience preferred
- Experience with appeals and denials, discharge planning, disease management, and needs assessment/DME ordering preferred
- Familiarity with CMS, DRG, HIPAA, OSHA, and Joint Commission regulatory guidelines preferred
- Experience in Emergency Department, ICU, and Surgical Services specialties preferred
- Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include care coordination, discharge planning, disease management, needs assessment, and order of DME
- May involve worker's compensation and disability case management duties
- Scrub color required is turquoise or business casual attire
- Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
- RTO requests limited to no more than 7 days and must be submitted upfront
- First-time travelers will not be considered for this role
- Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must not reside within 50 miles of the facility
- Local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate
- Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility for travel rate eligibility
- Travelers may be required to float between sister facilities near the contracted site
