Description

American Traveler is hiring a CT Technologist with ARRT-CT certification and at least 2 years of experience to perform diagnostic and specialized CT procedures.

Details

• Radiology/Cardiology CT department setting
• Variable shifts to fill schedule gaps, including Friday-Saturday nights and 3 alternating days (7a-3:30p, 9:30a-6p, 3p-11:30p, 11p-7:30a)
• May float to the Alta Bates Summit campus in Oakland as needed
• Performs routine and specialized CT procedures for diagnosis, treatment, and monitoring of injury or disease
• Assists physicians with CT-guided invasive procedures

Requirements

• ARRT-CT certification required
• CRT certification required
• RHF (Radiology Fluoroscopy) certification required
• Venipuncture certification required
• License required if applicable
• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• Must be able to work independently and exercise sound clinical judgment
• Skilled in patient assessment, monitoring, and communication with patients and families
• Experience preparing, administering, and documenting contrast media in accordance with regulations

Additional Information

• Operates complex stationary and mobile diagnostic CT equipment
• Educates patients on procedures, contrast media, and associated effects to reduce anxiety
• May mentor or orient students and new technologists
• Performs clerical duties including updating EHR/RIS records and documentation of exams and charges
• Implements ALARA safety standards to minimize radiation exposure to self, staff, and patients
• Maintains a clean, safe, and compliant work environment including equipment calibration and QC reporting
• Maintains strict confidentiality of patient health information
• Completes continuing education to maintain certification and licensure compliance
• Accepts local candidates at local rate within a 50-mile radius
• Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, with only 1 holiday request allowed per contract
• Re-orientation only required if separated 6+ months since last shift and prior orientation was at this facility
