Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiovascular ICU position requiring CVICU or ICU experience and ACLS/BLS certification.
Details
- Cardiovascular ICU unit with 10 beds and 2:1 patient ratios
- Total Care Support staffing model with unit secretaries and techs available
- Uses Alaris IV pumps, GE bedside monitors, IABP, and Impella devices
- Charts using Meditech documentation system
- Cares for patients undergoing open heart procedures and ECMO cannulation
- Schedule of 3 shifts per week including 3 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule
- Shift hours are 7am-7pm
- Floating required to Medical ICU and floor units as needed
Requirements
- Active KS or compact RN license required
- ACLS/BLS or ALS/BLS certification required
- Minimum 1 year of recent CVICU or ICU experience required
- Must have skills in telemetry, pressor and positive inotrope administration, pacemaker management, chest tube care, Cath/EP Lab recovery, and pericardial drain management
- Frequent site and vital sign assessment experience required
- No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
- US SSN and DOB required for consideration
- One professional reference required
Additional Information
- Perform frequent patient assessments and manage complex cardiovascular interventions and post-procedural recovery
- Charge nurse experience for night shift is a plus
- CVICU experience preferred in addition to general ICU background
- Unit recognized as a Unit of Distinction with high expectations for quality and patient experience scores
- Royal blue scrubs required as part of the dress code
- Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; local candidates will not be considered
