Description
American Traveler is hiring a CT Technologist for a high-volume acute care hospital requiring 2+ years of community hospital experience and ARRT CT/R certification.
Details
- Acute care hospital setting with 212 staffed beds
- CT Tech unit supporting adult acute care, adult outpatient, and emergency department patients
- 1:1 patient ratios
- High-volume, fast-paced environment requiring independent and efficient work
- Uses GE and Toshiba CT equipment with PACS system
- Charting via Epic
- Day (3x12, 6:00-18:30) or Night (3x12, 17:45-6:15) shifts with self-scheduling based on seniority
- Must be open to all shift times, including graveyard shifts, with no specific shift request accommodations
- Variable schedule required; unit works to avoid back-to-back night-to-day rotations
- Weekend requirements may exceed every other weekend to meet unit needs
- No call requirements
- No floating between units required
- May be asked to perform own patient transport based on staffing needs
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of CT Technologist experience required
- Community hospital experience required
- BLS, ARRT CT or ARRT R, CA CRT certifications required
- License required if applicable
- Compact license must be in hand at time of submission
- Experience with abdomen and pelvis imaging with and without contrast required
- Chest, head, and neck CT imaging skills required
- Preparation and/or administration of contrast media required
- Knowledge of radiation safety and isolation precautions/PPE required
- Must be able to work independently in a fast-paced environment
Additional Information
- Perform CT imaging across abdomen, pelvis, chest, head, neck, spine, and musculoskeletal cases
- May perform special procedures including aspirations, biopsies, brain perfusion, coronary CTA, drainage, and vascular CTA
- Must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
- Free parking provided
- Scrubs provided for L&D/OR staff; RNs wear navy blue scrubs
- First-time travelers accepted
- RTO requests must be submitted at time of submission; limited flexibility for post-submission changes
- Former Providence permanent staff may return as travelers after a 3-month waiting period
- Local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate within a 50-mile radius
