Description

American Traveler is hiring a CT Technologist with at least 1 year of experience and ARRT/BLS certification for a 13-week assignment at a Magnet-designated, Level III Trauma teaching hospital.

Details

  • Short-term acute care hospital setting with Magnet designation, teaching status, and Level III Trauma Center
  • CT department with 4 scanners in house serving approximately 100 patients per day
  • Patient population includes inpatient and outpatient cases covering neuro, full body, cancer, stroke, and lung screening studies
  • Day shift schedule of 5x8 hours from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM with flexibility for early or late start based on staffing needs
  • On-call required as needed per department needs, including weekends
  • May float within scope to meet facility needs or to sister/affiliate facilities nearby
  • Uses Siemens Force and GE scanners along with PACS system
  • Charts in Epic/Excellian EMR

Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year of CT Tech experience required
  • ARRT and BLS certification required; ARRT CT and ARRT R certifications preferred
  • License required if applicable
  • Pending state license accepted
  • Community hospital experience required
  • Level II Trauma Center experience preferred
  • Experience with PACS and contrast media required
  • Epic/Excellian charting experience required
  • Skills required include abdomen and pelvis studies, IV pyelogram, and pelvis imaging with or without contrast
  • Preferred skills include colorectal studies with rectal contrast
  • Experience in adult acute care, adult outpatient, ICU, and emergency department settings required
  • Level II Trauma Center experience preferred
  • Proficiency with special procedures such as brain perfusion, vascular CTA, and myelography
  • Preferred experience with aspirations, biopsies, colonography, CT arthrography, drainage, and transplant studies
  • Skilled in head and neck imaging including trauma head, sinuses, and soft tissue neck; preferred carotid imaging
  • Experience with spine and musculoskeletal imaging including cervical, thoracic, lumbar, and musculoskeletal trauma
  • Chest imaging experience required, including vascular chest studies such as CTA and pulmonary embolism protocols
  • Knowledge of isolation precautions/PPE, radiation safety, and peripheral IV starts required
  • Experience with contrast media preparation and administration required
  • Preferred experience with multiplanar reconstruction (MRP) image processing

Additional Information

  • First-time travelers will be considered for this position
  • Local candidates accepted for this radiology position
  • RTO should ideally not exceed 5 days
  • Returning employees must have been gone at least 3 months since their last shift worked as staff or per diem
  • Solid gray scrubs required
  • Facility has 672 total staffed beds
  • Candidates may float within the hospital or to nearby affiliate hospitals as needed
