Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Surgical Trauma ICU role requiring trauma and surgical ICU experience at a Level I Trauma Center.
Details
- Surgical Trauma ICU (STICU) setting within a Level I Trauma Center
- 20-bed unit with a 1:2 patient ratio
- Night shift, 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM, on a 6-week schedule
- Requires 6 weekend shifts within the scheduling period
- Travelers float before core staff and may float to other ICUs (MICU, NSICU, CVICU, CICU) or Step Down
- Uses EVDs, Camino/bolts, wound vacs, Baxter IV pumps, GE Carescape monitors, GE ventilators, iCool machines, Blanketrol, Bair Hugger, Prisma Max CRRT, Zoll, Kangaroo feeding pumps, and Alaris PCA pumps
- Documentation via Cerner PowerChart
- Modified self-scheduling available
Requirements
- Active RN license (NC or Compact) required
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of recent ICU experience required
- Trauma ICU experience (Level I or Level II Trauma Center) required
- Surgical ICU experience required
- Acute care ICU skills required; LTAC experience not considered
- US SSN and DOB required for consideration
- No gaps in work history of 90+ days within the past 12 months
Additional Information
- Care for critically ill trauma and surgical ICU patients requiring advanced monitoring and life support
- Perform or assist with intubation, extubation, chest tube placement, central line and A-line placement, Foley placement, bronchoscopy, endoscopy, proning, TPA administration, hypertonic medication administration, trach placement, EVD/bolt placement, CRRT/HD, irrigation and debridement, and minor surgery
- Work within a Magnet-designated, ACS Verified Level I Trauma Center
- Dress code requires all navy or all white scrubs, or navy bottoms with a white top
- Candidates must live outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; local candidates are not accepted
- Team-oriented environment seeking flexible, compassionate RNs with positive attitudes
