Description
American Traveler is seeking a Physical Therapist for an acute care hospital setting who will treat patients of all ages while collaborating with the medical team.
Details
- Acute care hospital therapy department
- Treats patients of all ages, modifying plan of care as appropriate
- Day shift, Monday through Friday, with one weekend per month
- 40 hours per week, 8-hour shifts, 5 days per week
- EPIC EMR experience required
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy required
- Illinois PT License required if applicable
- BLS (AHA) certification required
- New graduates considered
- Skilled in clinical documentation, physical therapy diagnosis, examination methods, and screening procedures
- Experience with intervention planning, outcome measurement, and family training
- Comfortable supervising support personnel such as PTAs and rehabilitation technicians
- Able to perform patient transfers safely with assistance as needed
Additional Information
- Serves as a role model in delivery of professional services and as a clinical resource for staff and students
- Designs individualized plans of care integrating goals, treatment, outcomes, and discharge planning
- Adjusts care based on patient response and available evidence
- Educates patients, families, caregivers, and other healthcare providers using effective teaching methods
- Provides supervision and regular feedback to support personnel in accordance with regulatory and ethical guidelines
- Collaborates with patients, families, and the medical team throughout the rehabilitation process
- Communicates patient status changes, transfer recommendations, and discharge needs with the care team
- RTO not to exceed 7 total days per 13-week contract
- Radius rule of 50 miles applies; local candidates not accepted
