Description

American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist II - Pediatrics with 2+ years of RT experience and RRT certification for a pediatric respiratory care unit.

Details

• Work in the Pediatric Respiratory Care Services unit
• Perform airway management, mechanical ventilator management, oxygen therapy, aerosol therapy, and related respiratory care procedures
• May transport pediatric and neonatal patients from referral hospitals under Air Care protocol
• May manage extracorporeal circulation for cardiac and respiratory support when working with ECMO
• May perform pulmonary function testing as needed
• Day shift hours from 7:00am to 7:00pm
• 36 hours per week over 3 shifts per week
• On-call required approximately 1 weekend per 6 weeks
• Weekend commitment of 6 shifts per 6 weeks

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Respiratory Therapist
• Graduation from an accredited Respiratory Therapy program
• Current RRT certification through the NBRC required
• At least one additional certification required depending on practice area: ACLS, NRP, PALS, or CPFT, or an advanced practice certificate for moderate sedation administration in the Bronchoscopy Lab
• License required if applicable
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret clinical information and technical procedures
• Strong clinical documentation and communication skills
• Skilled in tracheostomy care, endotracheal intubation/extubation, ventilator setup, monitoring, and weaning

Additional Information

• Provide competent respiratory care across airway management, ventilator management, oxygen therapy, and aerosol therapy
• Function independently with minimal supervision and serve as a resource to other staff
• May be required to be on-call during days, nights, weekends, and holidays
• Must be available to work Memorial Day, 4th of July, and Labor Day
• Maintains and continually improves job knowledge and clinical skills
