Description
American Traveler is hiring a night-shift CT Technologist for a dual CT/X-ray orthopedic role requiring ARRT CT & R certification and 2+ years of experience.
Details
- Specialty orthopedic hospital setting within the CT department performing a dual CT and X-ray role
- Patient population includes pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics across inpatient and outpatient settings
- Low-volume caseload of up to 20 patients per shift, working independently overnight
- May rotate across multiple hospital departments and an off-site private sector location
- CT procedures include abdomen, pelvis, head/neck, chest, spine, musculoskeletal, brain perfusion, CTA, and multiplanar reconstruction
- X-ray procedures include extremities, spine/pelvis, head, chest/thorax, and musculoskeletal imaging
- Uses Siemens CT equipment, portable X-ray units, and OR/C-arm
- Epic charting system preferred
- Night shift schedule of 5x8 hours, midnight to 8:30 AM, Monday through Friday
- First two weeks require day shift attendance for training before transitioning to regular night schedule
Requirements
- ARRT CT and ARRT R certifications required
- BLS certification required
- NYS license with IV certification required (license required if applicable)
- NY Department of Health certification required
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a dual CT/X-ray role required
- Experience operating Siemens CT equipment required
- Experience in adult acute care, outpatient, emergency department, and ICU settings
- Must be able to lift, push, pull, or move patients and equipment in excess of 150 pounds, with or without assistive devices
- Epic charting experience preferred but not required
Additional Information
- Perform CT and X-ray exams in exam room settings and via portable equipment for orthopedic cases
- Work independently overnight due to low patient volume
- May rotate between multiple departments within the hospital and an off-site private sector facility
- Charcoal grey scrubs required
- COVID-19 vaccination required with no exceptions
- First-time travelers will be considered for this position
- Local candidates accepted at the same rate
- RTO must be 5 days or less, with no time off permitted during the first 2 weeks of the assignment
- Former staff must wait 1 year before returning to the facility as a traveler
