Description

American Traveler is hiring a Labor & Delivery RN for a night shift assignment requiring 2+ years of L&D experience and BLS, ACLS, and NRP certification.

Details

• Labor and Delivery unit with 13 L&D rooms and 2 ORs
• Approximately 200 deliveries per month, with facility-wide birth volume of 100-200/month
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts, 18:45-7:15
• Every other weekend required
• Possible floating within the Women's Service Line
• Uses Epic, Pyxis, and SBAR charting/communication systems
• Facility provides scrubs

Requirements

• Active GA or Compact RN license required
• BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience required
• Experience with postpartum care, cesarean section recovery/circulation, vaginal delivery, and newborn care
• Skilled in labor and delivery management, sterile vaginal exams, and cord care
• Experience with EFM (external fetal heart monitoring) and obstetrical triage
• Experience with insulin drips and pitocin administration
• IV therapy/phlebotomy and central line maintenance experience
• Isolation precautions/PPE knowledge required
• First-time travelers accepted

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive labor, delivery, and postpartum nursing care including couplet care and lactation support
• Perform newborn assessments, thermoregulation, infant identification, and discharge teaching to parents
• Maximum 7 days of RTO per contract, finalized at time of submission
• No RTO permitted during orientation week
• Holiday coverage required: if 1-2 major holidays fall during the assignment, no holiday RTO can be requested; if 3 major holidays fall during the assignment, one holiday RTO may be considered
• Major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve/New Year's Day
• Local candidates accepted at the same bill rate
• Compliance documents must be completed promptly to avoid a two-week delay due to biweekly orientation scheduling
• Returning employees or travelers must be away from all Piedmont facilities for one full year before returning as a traveler
