Description
American Traveler is hiring a Cath Lab / EP Technologist for a short-term acute care hospital, requiring strong intervention/STEMI experience and comfort with EP devices.
Details
- Short-term acute care hospital setting in the Cardiac Cath Lab unit
- Diagnostic and interventional cardiac cath lab work settings
- 4x10 hour day shifts, scheduled 7:30 AM-6:00 PM or 6:30 AM-5:00 PM
- On-call required: 10-12 call shifts per month with a 30-minute response time
- Call duration is 12-14 hours, beginning at shift completion or 5pm if not working that day
- Cerner charting system used
- Floating within the hospital or to nearby affiliate hospitals is required for all travelers
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of experience required, 2+ years preferred
- ARRT(R), ACLS, and BLS certifications required (AHA or RQI accepted)
- License required if applicable; must be in hand prior to start date (IN or Compact license for start dates 2-4 weeks out)
- Strong experience with intervention and performing STEMI procedures required
- Must be comfortable using EP devices
- Experience with procedures such as diagnostic and left/right heart catheterization, PCI, PTCA, TAVR, Watchman, IABP, Impella, and pacemaker insertion
- Skilled in equipment setup, prepping access sites, sterile field maintenance, and recognition of life-threatening arrhythmias
- 2 supervisor references required
- SSN and DOB required for consideration
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include hemodynamic monitoring, EP studies, cardiac ablations, cardiac mapping, and vascular closure techniques
- First-time travelers are accepted
- Must work 1 winter holiday and 2 out of 3 major holidays
- Local candidates (IN residents) are accepted
- Perm or PRN IU Health employees must be separated for 12 months before applying as a traveler
- Current or past IU Health travelers with 12+ months of travel employment must complete a consecutive break to reset eligibility (3 months for out-of-state residents, 6 months for in-state residents)
